Code of Conduct for:-


Club Coaches, Team Managers, Officials and other volunteers.

Chesterfield and District Athletics Club recognises the essence of good ethical practice as summarised below.

All Volunteers must:-

Consider the wellbeing and safety of athletes before the development of performance.

Develop an appropriate working relationship with participants based on mutual trust and respect.

Make sure that all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.

Promote the positive aspects of athletics (fair play etc).

Display consistently high standards of appearance and behaviour.

Follow all guidelines as laid down by UK Athletics and CDAC.

Hold appropriate valid qualifications and insurance cover.

Never exert undue influence over athletes to obtain personal benefit or reward.

Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibited substances.

Encourage athletes to value their performance and not just results.

Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own performance and behaviour.

Act as a role model.

Liaise with parents on any issues of concern.

Report accidents/incidents to the club welfare officer.
